We are all volunteers. We continue to welcome new governors to join our team, such as parents of children, members of staff and local people.
The key thing we have in common is that we all care about WGCLTC and the people who make up the community.
We support the school, the children, staff and parents to make this a school of choice. We meet five times a year as a full Governing Body for an overview of the work of the school. Minutes of these meetings are available from the school office.
We have four committees to consider specific areas in detail. All Governors serve on at least one committee. We monitor that all the school’s legal responsibilities are met. However the Governing Body’s main duty is to help raise standards of achievement and improve the well-being of our pupils. We do this in three ways:
- by guiding and supporting the strategic direction of the school.
- by asking challenging questions of the Head, Senior Leadership team and staff.
- by monitoring the performance and achievement of the school against set targets.
